from by Tim Blane

You sat me down and
Deconstructed everything I do
But never realized that I do

And then a sound like
A three in a row slot machine went off inside my head
But pouring out instead

Were all thoughts that I’d hidden underneath
And hearing out loud my faults and falsehoods
was a weird relief

And you may not know,
but the whole conversation was a goldmine last night
And you may not know,
but you’re slowly replacing all my favorite pastimes
But I think- nothing’s gonna change til I get around to rearranging everything I had imagined life to be
I’ve got a new funny feeling that I’m not yet me

Where’s the phonebook
It’s time to call the people I know best
And half listen, half confess

And it’s its own hook
Taking the time out so you can be a worthy man
And if needed to rebrand

Clearly you are wise beyond your years
And I’m still emotionally wet behind the ears

And if you have a minute
You should dive right in and
Try to turn the topic to yourself
I think you’d find you’re quite the help
